Judge Blocks DJT From Stripping Some Venezuelans of Protection Against Deportation

Federal District Court Judge Edward Chen issued a temporary restraining order to pause Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s removal of temporary protected status from hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans.

TPS was first granted by President Joe Biden in 2021, allowing Venezuelans who fled to the USA to live and work legally in the USA for up to two years.

The case Chen is hearing was brought by the National TPS Alliance.
