Israel Ends Ceasefire with Attacks Killing Hundred in Gaza

Israel ended the ceasefire in Gaza by raining airstrikes, killing more than 400, including women and children.

Any remaining hostages were supposed to be released from Gaza during Phase 2 of the ceasefire. Phase 1 ended earlier this month.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed Israel’s airstrikes targeted Hamas because the group refused terms the USA proposed for release of more hostages. Hamas had made a counter-proposal which was rejected by Israel and the USA.

Hamas said five of its officials in midlevel leadership positions in Gaza, and their families, died in the strikes.
