IRS Agrees to Share Sensitive Taxpayer Data with ICE

For Donald Trump’s mass deportation campaign, the Internal Revenue Service agreed to provide confidential sensitive taxpayer data to the Department of Homeland Security for use by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

ICE will use IRS data to track down immigrants for deportation.

Advocacy groups for immigrants’ rights filed suit last month to block this agreement. The judge hearing the case declined their request for an emergency order against it. Next week another hearing is scheduled on the matter.
