Incarcerated Trans Woman Sues Government Against Denial of Hormones and Transfer into Men’s Prison

| 0

A trans woman sued the federal government, asserting that Donald Trump’s executive order that there are only two sexes and sex cannot be changed after birth has resulted in abridging her rights and putting her unduly at risk.

Alias Maria Moe in court filings, the prisoner has been taking feminizing hormones since mid-teens and has always been dealt with as a woman in the prison system.

Since Trump’s order, her gender-affirming medications are withheld without regard to medical necessity. She has been segregated from the general prison population, pending transfer to a prison for men where she will be at high risk of being harmed. These actions are dictated by Trump’s order.
