The building’s top 18th and 19th floors will be renovated to become a mansion for HUD Secretary Scott Turner. It will include an executive suite, executive dining room, reserved parking for the his five cars, dedicated use of an elevator, space for his assistants, and a gym for Turner and his family.

According to HUD and the General Service Administration, HUD’s current headquarters building is only at half capacity and needs $500 million in deferred maintenance and modernization.

NSF just moved into the building it is being kicked out of in 2017, to be closer to other agencies and institutions it often needs to collaborate with.
