HHS Lets DOGE Access Child Support Database Full of Personal Financial Data

| 0

The Department of Health and Human Services has allowed Elon Musk’s DOGE access to a sensitive, legally shielded child support database full of personal financial data.

This database offers another way for DOGE to obtain personal financial information that it has been seeking from the Internal Revenue Service, where it has not had as much success gaining access. Both data sources are supposed to have similar legal protection against access by people without an appropriate “need to know.”

DOGE’s access is supposedly read-only, but that has been claimed about its access to other federal IT systems where it later turned out that DOGE not only had write access to change data, but also had write access to change software and data processing.

The “Department of Government Efficiency” is a subset of a While House IT team, not a government department.
