HHS Denies Plan to Create Autism Registry but Calls It a Data Platform Instead
The Department of Health and Human Services denied that it plans to create a national registry to monitor autistic people, but said it will create a data platform which will have the same effect.
Some news outlets said HHS “walked back” the plan to create the registry, but closer examination suggested HHS merely called it something else to reduce the public outcry against it.
