Giuliani Finishes Paying $148 million Judgement to Election Workers He Defamed

| 0

Lawyers representing Rudy Giuliani say he has at last fully paid the $148 million judgement awarded to two Georgia election workers for his persistent false accusations that they manipulated 2020 election results.

His accusations prompted an onslaught of abuse, harassment and threats to Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shaye Moss. He filed for bankruptcy while claiming he could not pay the judgement. His bankruptcy attempt was dismissed, largely due to his lack of transparency about his finances and his attempts to sidestep court orders.

The election workers and Giuliani reached a settlement in January over how to wrap up the judgement.

Giuliani is former mayor of New York City and former attorney for Donald Trump.
