French Far Right Leader Cancels CPAC Talk After Bannon’s Fascist Salute

Jordan Bardella, leader of French far-right political party National Rally, cancelled his speech at the U.S. Conservative Political Action Conference after Steve Bannon finished his speech there with a Nazi salute.

CPAC is meeting in National Harbor, Maryland.

Bannon helped Donald Trump win the Presidency in 2016 and served as an aide. He now hosts a popular right wing podcast. His salute at the end of his speech got cheers from the audience.

Bardela then cancelled due to Bannon’s “Nazi ideology.” In the French snap election of summer 2024, National Rally was outdone by a left wing alliance.
