France Offers to Extend Its Nuclear Umbrella for European Neighbors

France’s Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron offered to extend his country’s nuclear umbrella over Europe.

France and the UK are nuclear powers in Europe, but most European countries rely mainly on the USA to provide nuclear deterrence for them.

Macron voiced his proposal in a national speech the day before the next emergency European-plus-Canada summit about the current upheaval of the world order is due to meet in Brussels.
