DJT Wants to Dissolve USPS Board, Absorb USPS into Executive Branch

Donald Trump wants to dissolve the board that runs the U.S. Postal Service and move the Postal Service into the Commerce Department where the executive branch can more directly control it.

Article I, Section 8 grants Congress, not the President, the power “To establish Post Offices and post Roads.” USPS is the only letter and parcel deliverer in the USA that is required to deliver to every address in the country. Rural areas especially depend upon it. Congress structured the USPS to attempt to keep its leadership non-partisan.
