DJT Tells Cabinet that They, Not Musk, are In Charge of Cutting Their Agencies

In a Cabinet meeting with Elon Musk also attending, Donald Trump declared that Cabinet Secretaries, not Musk, are responsible for slashing their own workforces.

Although mainstream media declared this was a rare instance of Trump reining in Musk, Trump went on to say, “If they can cut, it’s better. And if they don’t cut then Elon will do the cutting.” Like the regime’s declaration that Musk’s government-demolishing DOGE is headed by Amy Gleason rather than Musk, it appears that Trump’s declaration only attempts to displace legal liability from Musk onto Cabinet Secretaries rather than inhibit Musk’s activities.

The “Department” of Government Efficiency is a subset of a White House IT team rather than a department. An increasing number of federal courts have been ruling that much of DOGE’s activity is illegal.
