DJT Suspends Security Clearances for Covington & Burling which Provided Services for Jack Smith
Donald Trump suspended the security clearances of lawyers at Covington & Burling, apparently as retribution because the firm provided services on a pro bono basis to special counsel Jack Smith.
Lanny Breuer, currently an attorney at the firm, is an ex-Justice Department official. In 2010 Breuer hired Smith to lead the DOJ’s Public Integrity Section.
Covington & Burling had no role in Smith’s criminal investigations of Trump.
