DJT Posts Ominous Dog-Whistle Quote of Napoleon

Donald Trump posted on Truth Social and X, “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.”

This is widely regarded as a quotation of Napoleon Bonaparte, although the veracity of the attribution is unclear.

Mainstream media focused on the post as a declaration that Trump believes laws do not apply to him. Several independent analysts saw the post as akin to Trump’s infamous “stand back and stand by” dog whistle to violent right wing groups supporting him. In this case, the dog whistle would mean and he will make certain such groups are not held accountable for any crimes they commit on his behalf.
