DJT Orders Smithsonian to Rewrite Its Presentation of USA History

| 0

Donald Trump issued an executive order to reshape the way the Smithsonian Institution presents the history of the USA, eliminating anything that does not fit the way he believes it should be presented.

The Smithsonian is the largest institutional collection of museums, educational and research entities in the world.

The EO puts Vice President J.D. Vance in charge of reshaping the Smithsonian. Changes to be made are along the lines of Trump’s culture war, which generally hide or push down accomplishments by anyone other than straight white men. Some areas singled out by Trump for revision include the American Women’s History Museum, an exhibit titled The Shape of Power: Stories of Race and American Sculpture.at the American Art Museum, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, and Confederate statues and names which Trump wants made more prominent again.
