DJT Orders DOJ to Act Against Christopher Krebs and Miles Taylor

Violating traditional independence of the Department of Justice, Donald Trump ordered it to investigate his former aides Christopher Krebs and Miles Taylor and recommend “appropriate remedial or preventative actions to be taken to protect America’s interests.”

During Trump’s first term in office, he made Krebs head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). After the 2020 election, Trump fired him by tweet after he told the public about the election “in every case of which we are aware, these claims [of fraud] either have been unsubstantiated or are technically incoherent.” He also approved a joint statement by CISA and others assuring the public that the election was secure with no sign of votes being altered, stolen or falsified. Later, he testified to the January 6th Committee in Congress.

Cybersecurity firm SentinelOne now employs Krebs as its chief intelligence and public policy officer. All security clearances held by anyone in the firm have been suspended, like the clearance for Miles Taylor.

During Trump’s first term in office, Miles Taylor was a senior Department of Homeland Security official. Taylor penned an op-ed piece as “Anonymous” in which he said members of the administration were trying to push back against Trump’s decisions.

In 2019, the year he left the administration, Taylor published a book titled A Warning about his tenure in that administration, revealing chaos in Trump’s White House. Eventually he revealed his identity and endorsed Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Trump called Taylor’s book “designed to sow chaos and distrust in Government” and said it “could properly be characterized as treasonous and as possibly violating the Espionage Act.”

In his books, Taylor said that if Trump got into the White House again, he would use the government to target people he does not like.

In response to being targeted through the DOJ, Taylor posted on X:

I said this would happen. Dissent isn’t unlawful. It certainly isn’t treasonous. America is headed down a dark path. Never has a man so inelegantly proved another man’s point.
