DJT Announces Tariffs on Canada, China, Mexico

Donald Trump announced that tariffs will begin 1 February 2025 on imports from Canada (25%, except 10% on oil), China (10%) and Mexico (25%) in violation of treaties he put in place during his first term as President.

Trump also revoked the “de minimis” rule that has allowed small packages valued under $800 duty-free entry into the USA. This exemption has been heavily used by Chinese-linked e-commerce companies.
