DHS Secretary Noem’s Handbag Stolen

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said her handbag was stolen at a restaurant in downtown Washington, D.C. Sunday evening.

She is responsible for border security and some counterterrorism efforts for the nation.

The handbag contained her DHS security badge, apartment keys, over $3,000 in cash, some blank checks and other less valuable items.

A DHS official offered this explanation of the large amount of cash. “Her entire family was in town including her children and grandchildren—she was using the cash withdrawal to treat her family to dinner, activities, and Easter gifts,”

Her most recent previous splash in the news came after she filmed a video message at the notorious CECOT prison in El Salvador not long after three flights of Venezuelans were renditioned there. She stood in front of prison bars behind which were dozens of shirtless male prisoners with shaved heads. She wore an expensive Rolex wristwatch in the video.
