Des Moines Register and Pollster J. Ann Selzer Ask Court to Dismiss Lawsuit

The Des Moines Register newspaper and pollster J. Ann Selzer asked a federal District Court judge to dismiss the lawsuit filed against them by Donald Trump over a poll before the 2024 election that said Vice President Kamala Harris had a slight lead in the race.

Unlike some other media outlets that capitulated by paying settlements for similar lawsuits by Trump, in this one the defendants are digging in. Legal experts widely criticize the lawsuit as a means of imposing a financial burden on the defendants rather than based on merits.
