Democrats Show Strength in Local Lincoln, Nebraska Elections

| 0

In non-partisan local elections in Lincoln, Nebraska, registered Democrats retained a majority on the Lincoln City Council, Airport Authority and Board of Education.

Republicans have more registered voters in the city, but Democrats turned out more of their voters. In a low-turnout election, that mattered.

Voters also strongly supported a ballot initiative to ban housing discrimination based on a renter’s or buyer’s source of income, such as Section 8. Almost twice as many people voted for it rather than against it.
