CDC’s Long Overdue MMWR Briefly Includes, Then Deletes, Bird Flu Info

| 0

Centers for Disease Control resumed publication of its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, including two articles about bird flu which were deleted soon after publication.

After an unprecedented gap of two weeks ordered by Donald Trump, the CDC at last began to publish its MMWR again. Most readers only saw two articles pertaining to health effects from wildfires in a much slimmer publication than normal. Two other articles about avian (bird) flu, which included description of spread between humans and cats in two households, were initially published around 13:00 and then quickly removed.

H5N1 influenza is often fatal in cats.
