Canada Reducing Order for USA-Made F-35 Fighter Jets

| 0

Hours after Portugal announced cancelling plans to buy USA-made F-35 fighter jets, Canada’s Defence Minister Bill Blaire announced the country’s order for F-35 jets may be reduced. By the next day, word came out that Canada will buy no more than 32 F-35 fighters.

Canada has already paid for 16 of the fighters. The money saved by reducing the F-35 order will be redirected to buy 60 Swedish Saab Gripen E/F-39 fighter jets instead.
