Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany and UK Issue Travel Advisory for Citizens Visiting USA

| 0

On Thursday and Friday Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany and the UK updated their travel advice for citizens visiting the USA, warning of potential arrest or detention.

Each country chose different wording. Denmark and Finland especially focused on the USA’s new hostility toward anyone whose travel documentation shows a gender different from what was recorded at birth.

The UK’s advisory says, “You should comply with all entry, visa and other conditions of entry. The authorities in the U.S. set and enforce entry rules strictly. You may be liable to arrest or detention if you break the rules.”

Given British understatement, by UK standards the last sentence there is a screaming advisory change. It comes shortly after UK citizen Rebecca Burke was at last release by USA’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement on 18 March 2025 after being detained 26 February 2025.
