Black Student Found Hanging from a Tree on College Campus
Demartravion “Trey” Reed, a Black 21 year old student at Delta State University, was found hanging from a tree in the middle of the campus.
Rumors quickly began to circulate that his body had bruises and broken bones consistent with a lynching. The Bolivar County Coroner’s office soon reported no signs of foul play and no injuries consistent with an assault. Officials declared his death a suicide.
His body was sent to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for autopsy.
