DJT Asks Supreme Court to Pause Court Order That Would Reinstate 16,000 Workers in 6 Agencies

Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court to pause a ruling from a District Court, which an Appeals Court upheld, that requires reinstatement of more than 16,000 probationary federal workers who were fired across six agencies.

The order Trump wants lifted came from federal District Court Judge William Alsup and affects the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Agriculture, Defense, Energy, Interior and Treasury. Alsup declared the firings were probably unlawful on the grounds that the Office of Personnel Management had no authority to order the firings.
