USDA Tries to Rehire Fired People Working on Bird Flu

The Department of Agriculture belatedly realized it fired several federal employees who were working on containing the H5N1 avian flu outbreak that is decimating egg and poultry suppliers, and cross-infecting cattle.

This error comes hard on the heels of the accidental firing of people who take care of the USA’s nuclear safety, including its stockpile of nuclear weapons.

Firings by the new regime are immediate and cut off workers’ access to facilities and email. The regime does not have good records of other ways to contact them when it wants to rescind terminations.
