DJT Cuts Off Military Aid to Ukraine to Pressure Zelenskyy

Donald Trump, echoing the maneuver that led to his first impeachment, “paused” all USA military aid to Ukraine to pressure President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to capitulate on terms Trump dictates.

Most mainstream media repeated Trump’s talking points claiming that he is doing this to achieve peace between Ukraine and Russia.

Mainstream media is not mentioning that this is impoundment of Congressionally appropriated funds, which is still illegal under the terms of the 1974 Impoundment Control Act. It is also still unconstitutional. Congress has the power to set government spending and to make laws, not the President. The Constitution makes Trump responsible to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.”

Poland’s Foreign Minister said Ukraine’s allies, which until recently also regarded themselves as allies with the USA, had no advance notice of the USA’s “pause” of military aid to Ukraine.
