Supreme Court Facilitates Lawsuits for Reverse Discrimination

| 0

The Supreme Court unanimously made it easier to sue over “reverse discrimination” allegations of being discriminated against for being a member of a usually-privileged demographic.

In the case before the court, Justices ruled in favor of Marlean Ames, a woman in Ohio who asserted she did not get a job and was later demoted due to being heterosexual. The job she wanted and the job she had held went to LGBTQ people.

The decision will affect lawsuits in progress in 20 states and the District of Columbia.
