Rolla MO Ousts 3 Anti-LGBTQ+ City Council Members

Rolla, Missouri, ousted three prominently anti-LGBTQ+ City Council members who were up for re-election. Voters replaced them with three candidates backed by local LGBTQ+ advocacy organizations.

Policy stances of the ousted Councillors included banning drag shows and banning from schools and public libraries any books with what they regarded as pro-LGBTQ+ content.

Election turnout was high and the results were decisive.
