NOTAM Air Safety System Goes Down

| 0

Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM), the main air safety system for the Federal Aviation Administration, went down for the entire USA from 23:41 Saturday until 11:00 Sunday.

This has not happened before. It occurred within days after two air crashes that killed more than 70 people. This chain of events began after Donald Trump pushed out the head of the FAA long before before his term expired and did not appoint a replacement until after the embarrassment of a press conference after the first mid-air crash in 16 years.

The first air crash occurred shortly after Donald Trump’s administration send email to most federal workers, including air traffic controllers, telling them that many will be fired. After the first crash, the administration sent another email telling workers, including air traffic controllers, to look for new jobs in the private sector.

A few days later, the unprecedented outage of NOTAM occurred and its backup system also did not work, triggering a rare ground stop for all flights in the USA for several hours.
