Netherlands Commits 500 million EUR for Ukrainian Drone Capabilities
The Netherlands committed 500 million euros to help Ukraine’s drone program in its defense against invasion by Russia.
Defence Minister Ruben Brekelmans and State Secretary Gijs Tuinman announced the funding while visiting Ukraine recently. They also met with the commander of Ukraine’s ground forces for the eastern front to discuss military needs and sign an agreement strengthening cooperation between the two countries’ defense industries.
The drone support funding is part of 2 billion euros in funding from the Netherlands on an accelerated basis. Ukraine emphasized its need for drones, air defence systems, and artillery, all of which the Netherlands plans to support.
