National Security Adviser Waltz Has Used Signal and Personal Gmail Account for Official Communications

| 0

National Security Adviser Michael Waltz and others in the USA’s national security team have used Signal for more sensitive discussions, not only planning a military strike in Yemen, and also used personal Gmail accounts for official communications.

Additional discussions in Signal included such topics as Somalia and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Gmail is significantly less secure than Signal. Unless GPG is used, Gmail messages are unencrypted and can easily be ready anywhere along the way in cyberspace. Both systems bypass normal procedures and standards for not only security, but for archival of government records required by law.

Official communications through Gmail included an aide discussing  sensitive military information such as positions and weapons systems in a conflict.
