More than 99% of shareholders of Levi Strauss resoundingly rejected a proposal to end its diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.

The proposal was made by the right wing National Center for Public Policy Research, calling for a review of legal and reputational risks associated with the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion policies. NCPPR is prominent among groups that have been pushing such proposals at the shareholders’ meetings of multiple large corporations such as Apple, John Deere and Goldman Sachs which have all voted strongly against the proposals.
