Judge Finds Trump Ally Mike Lindell in Contempt of Court

Federal District Court Judge Jeffrey M. Bryan ruled Donald Trump ally Mike Lindell in contempt of court for not producing discovery materials, including some financial documents, in the defamation lawsuit brought against him by voting technology company Smartmatic.

Lindell is founder of the MyPillow company and a die-hard pro-Trump ally who insists the 2020 election results were illegitimate.

Smartmatic sued Lindell for defamation due to his persistent unfounded claims that the company’s software counted some votes for Trump as votes for Joe Biden in the 2020 election. The company says he has suppressed the value of the company.

The company settled a similar case against far-right cable channel One America News in 2024.
