IL Governor Pritzker Directs State Agencies to Review Ties with El Salvador
Democratic Illinois Governor JB Pritzker announced he will direct several state agencies to review their ties with El Salvador with an eye to reducing them.
His intention is to reduce contracts and investments there in light of the country and its CECOT mega-prison “aiding the Trump administration’s unlawful and unconstitutional actions.” Examples of affected agencies include pension funds that may have invested in Salvadoran businesses and the Illinois Department of Central Management Services which may have contracts with such companies.
