Finnish Satellite Company ICEYE Provides SAR Data to NATO

| 0

Finland’s satellite company ICEYE now supplies its synthetic aperture radar Earth observation data to NATO’s Situation Centre in Brussels.

This reduces NATO’s need for USA-provided observation information from satellites.

ICEYE has about 40 satellite and has offices in several countries. SAR is able to provide Earth observation data through nearly all weather conditions.

In late 2024 ICEYE signed a contract to supply SAR data to Ukraine on behalf of German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall. It also supplies Ukraine on behalf of the Finnish government. It has a deal to integrate its SAR data into the Swedish defence company Saab’s command and control systems.
