Federal Agencies Reinstate 24,583 Fired Probationary Workers

As mandated by two federal District Court Judges, 24,583 probationary employees who had been thrown out in mass firings returned to work.

After Donald Trump’s regime began saying it would immediately put reinstated workers on administrative leave, District Court Judge William Alsup emphasized that he would not consider administrative leave to be in compliance with his order.

In many agencies, the mass return to work was chaotic. Office space, office furniture and many basics needed to accomplish their work were scarce. Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” had terminated leases and already begun disposing of assets.

DOGE is a subset of a White House IT team, not a government department.
