DOJ Video of Epstein was Edited and DJT Got Ratioed on His Own Social Media

Donald Trump’s lackeys strove to circle the wagons as Department of Justice handling of information about Jeffrey Epstein spun out of control, and when Trump waded in about it, he got ratioed on his own social media platform Truth Social.

Getting ratioed means his long rambling defensive post got more comments than likes or shares, a sign of strong disapproval. Instead of calming the rage spiral of his base, Trump’s post magnified it.

Adding to the fury of the base, Wired magazine analyzed the Department of Justice video of Jeffrey Epstein the night before he was found dead, supposedly raw and unedited. Metadata indicated the video had been edited. It was not raw from the prison’s camera system. It was stitched together from at least two source clips. It was saved multiple times, exported, and then presented by DOJ as “raw” video. A professional tool was used to do this, most likely Adobe Premiere Pro.

Wired emphasized that it could not determine what the editing changed, so it could not determine whether the editing only processed it for release or manipulated it., However, approximately 2 minutes 53 seconds of footage was missing from the file eventually released to the public. Wired published other details such as the username of the person who edited the file, the fact that they saved the file four times in 23 minutes on 23 May 2025, and the names of files containing original source clips.

The magazine engaged Professor Hany Farid from University of California at Berkeley to examine the metadata. He is expert in digital forensics and misinformation such as deepfakes. He mentioned that the aspect ratio changes during the video, and he raised concerns about chain of custody for the video.
