DOJ Sues Illinois and Chicago Against Sanctuary Laws

The federal Department of Justice sued Illinois, Cook County and the City of Chicago, seeking to overturn “sanctuary laws” limiting cooperation with immigration authorities.

DOJ complains that the sanctuary laws impede federal immigration officers by not letting them use local law enforcement to help them.
