DJT Withdraws Nomination of Isaacman for Top NASA Role

Donald Trump withdrew his nomination of Jared Isaacman to be the Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration days before the Senate was due to vote on his confirmation.

Former NASA Administrator Bill Nelson left his post 20 January 2025, the day Trump was inaugurated for his current term in office.

Isaacman went through Senate hearings last month. He is a billionaire, the  CEO of payment processing company Shift4. He has a longtime business relationship with Elon Musk. In 2021 he bought a seat on the first chartered flight by Musk’s company SpaceX.

Musk specifically requested Isaacman’s nomination for NASA Administrator.
