DJT Says Canada Can Avoid Tariffs by Becoming 51st State

At a dinner at Mar-a-Lago with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Donald Trump said Canada can avoid the tariffs he plans to impose by becoming the 51st state in the USA.

In subsequent days and weeks, Trump made more references to annexing Canada, no longer sounding as though he might be joking. He said he could use economic pressure to force Canada to join the USA.
