Congress Certifies 2024 Election

Smoothly and without incident, Congress certified Donald J. Trump as winner of the 2024 Presidential election.

The calm session stood in stark contrast to certification in 2021, during which lawmakers had to flee for their lives from invasion by a violent mob.
