Brown University Federal Funding of $510 million to Be Cut Off

| 0

Federal grants and contracts totaling $510 million to Brown University are to be cut off, ostensibly due to an ongoing investigation into allegations of antisemitism on campus.

Brown is the fifth Ivy League university targeted by Donald Trump in this way.

During campus protests in 2024 against the Israel’s war on Gaza, Brown promised to have its governing board consider divesting from companies charged by protesters with helping Israel occupy Palestinian territories. In return for this promise, students ended their protest encampment at the university.

The governing board of Brown later rejected the divestment proposal.
