Appeals Court Clears the Way for Mass Firings of Probationary Federal Workers

| 0

A split panel of the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals halted a ruling by federal District Court Judge James Bredar, thereby preventing reinstatement of about 25,000 mass-fired probationary federal employees across about 20 agencies.

The majority of the panel said the issue should be resolved through some other mechanism, not federal courts.

This is not the only lawsuit making its way through the courts about this issue. Appeal of another reinstatement order by federal District Court Judge William Alsup has already made its way to the Supreme Court.
