After Outcry, VA Begins Restarting Contracts DOGE Canceled

One day after DOGE trumpeted contract terminations estimated to save $2 billion at the Veterans Administration, the VA began restarting some of the contracts due to adverse impact on essential services.

As an example, contracts had been canceled for necessary inspections of medical equipment that involve radiation such as CT scanners, MRI machines and dental X-ray machines. By law, the machines cannot be used after inspections lapse. Other contracts were for such things as medical services, dental services and even burial services for military veterans.
