AARP Cautions Seniors about Securing Their Phones to Cross the Border

The American Association of Retired Persons published an article advising seniors who travel abroad about border agents examining or even taking their phones, and suggested using a burner phone.

Travel advice included:

Know your rights
Turn off your phone
Try to say no when agents want the phone unlocked
Be aware that agents can keep your phone
Cleanse your phone before travel so nothing is on it that you would not want agents to get into
Use a burner phone when traveling
